On Sunday the 12th of August 29 people from St Benedict’s parish including 6 monks braved the elements to take part in a CAFOD Share the Journey walk. This year Pope Francis has encouraged us all to ‘welcome our brother and sister migrants and refugees with arms wide open’ and to call on world leaders to do the same when they finalise two new global agreements at the United Nations: one on refugees and one on migration.
On Friday the 29th of June students and staff at St George’s Catholic Primary School in Taunton took part in the Share the Journey walk for CAFOD with two refugees joining them. The school had 241 people take part with 241 miles covered, a fantastic number of miles to walk in solidarity.
A Share the Journey walk also took place by parishioners of St Georges Catholic parish on the 1st of July from 2:30pm-3:30pm in the afternoon. Parishioner Doug Lowe of St Teresa of Lisieux parish also took part in a Share the Journey walk on the 24th of June from 2:30pm-3:30pm.
Why not use CAFOD’s Share the Journey prayer resources for a prayer walk. You can find them here on the CAFOD website.
CAFOD Clifton would like to ‘Thank’ all those at St Georges School who walked in solidarity sharing the journey to raise awareness about the plight of refugees and migrants across the world. CAFOD Clifton would also like to say ‘Thank You’ for the parish community of St George’s in Taunton for your continued support of CAFOD’s work.
