The Our Lady of Lourdes & St Michael CAFOD Group have been engaging in some particularly fishy activities for CAFOD this Lent.

The Group has a regular monthly evening meeting and last week used the CAFOD film for Lent fast day as their focus. Ideas for events and discussion were generated by using some of the secondary school assembly materials, as well as listening to Sister Yvonne’s  reflection before they decorated cut-out fish and wrote themselves Lenten reminders.

These reminders were for the people or cause they each wanted to pray for every day in Lent. They then took their paper fish home to stick on the fridge, or a mirror, or to use as a bookmark – somewhere they would see them and pray every day.

The CAFOD Group is planning to bring them back to Mass for the offertory at Easter. Then, it will be tea and fish-shaped biscuits all round!
