The Woodchester Church of the Annunciation CAFOD Group had much fun this Lenten Pancake Day; many pancakes were made, sold – and eaten!
The Group held their Pancake Morning in Nailsworth on February 29th using the Anglican church Parish Rooms which have a good kitchen and is central to the town. The Town Crier for Nailsworth advertised the event at the Farmers Market on Saturday and all the publicity ensured everyone was kept very busy with customers for the hour and a half they were open
The CAFOD Group cooked about 220 pancakes, sold cakes and had a raffle; the profit for CAFOD was estimated to in the region of £280. Angela Middleditch from the Nailsworth CAFOD Group said: “It was good to see so many people from the local area and from St. George’s (the Anglican church) coming to support us as well as our own parishioners”.
