St Josephs RC Primary School Portishead have raised over £700 for CAFOD through their Christmas performances. As is tradition the school takes a collection from the audience after each performance. The pupils decide on a charity to support, with the school council and chaplaincy team deciding to support CAFOD this year. Pupils have been learning about the work of overseas development agencies like CAFOD and how they support child refugees in particular. This year pupils have also been fundraising through cake sales and penny collection boxes in classrooms. Six Nativity plays were performed at school and the term finished with a Year 5 and 6 carol service at the church. The photo attached is from year 3 and 4’s performance of “The Stars Come Out For Christmas”.
